Avatar Korra

"Hope has a new face."

i am freaking excited for the new spin off series, and i can't seem to stop my hands from making Korra doodles and thinking of what possible things that would show in this new Avatar series. i was sad to learn of the Gaang's death, and i just wished that they should at least have toph alive; old but still badass and a major challenge for the new avatar
anyhow, i am very pleased with my drawing of Korra, but slightly displeased with the clothes; i made this before the Korra linetest leaked out, and unfortunately her clothes don't seem accurate with the one shown in the linetest. it's too late for me to change it :/
the background and the elements sort of bugged me, especially the water and earth! the sirly background is just an excuse for me to be lazy, water is simply hard to paint, and i don't like earth's colors. and please please! do NOT mind the shadow! i hate it!

EDIT: so i fixed Korra's skintone to a darker brown. i unfortunately did not shade her skin darker so someone pointed out that Korra looks a bit lighter than her color in actual promos in the original coloring, so i had to fix that for fear of being posted on tumblr, bashed, and being called a racist (it is really a very scary thing to see your artwork posted on tumblr and people commenting hate on it, when all you want in the first place is to spread the love of Korra) frankly speaking, i had NO intentions of being racist at all, and i even used BROWN coloring pencil in rendering her skin. the thing is, once exposed to tumblr, people there will immediately call you a racist without kindly guiding and telling the artist on what he/she has done wrong.
so here is korra, in her right color. in case of further flame wars, no comments allowed already.
